Interesting fact: As a young kid, I envisioned myself being a doctor. I almost majored in psychology instead of political science.
Jonathan committed himself to moving to Israel after completing a gap year of study in Israel before college, at Yeshivat Lev HaTorah in 2006. In fall of that year, Jonathan began his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland in College Park where he majored in Government and Politics and was invited to participate in the university’s Scholars Program. By the end of his sophomore year, Jonathan graduated and received a certificate from the International Studies Scholars Program at the university. Two years later, he received his BA in Government and Politics with a designation of Honors after completing a senior thesis. While on campus, Jonathan maintained his connection to Israel by participating in Israel-related activities and initiatives on campus, most notably as a member of the executive board of the Zionist Organization of America’s student branch on campus.
Shortly after graduating, Jonathan sought for a post-graduate program in Israel that would further smooth his transition to permanent life in Israel, and found Israel Government Fellows (IGF) to be a perfect match. As a fellow, Jonathan worked at Israel’s Foreign Ministry at the Department of International Organizations and Human Rights.
Jonathan officially made aliyah a couple of months after completing IGF and immediately began a Master’s Degree program in Government with a concentration on Diplomacy and Conflict Management at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) in Herzliya. Shortly after graduating in 2014, Jonathan was hired as news producer for Voice of Israel Internet radio station. After his time at Voice of Israel, Jonathan has worked as a news writer and news reporter and has had his pieces published in many publications among which include Ynet, The Jewish Press, The Algemeiner and i24.
