LIST OF CURRENT PLACEMENTS


 Below is a list of the placements currently hosting IGF interns.



GOVERNMENT PRESS OFFICE


Interns will assist in the general work of the office, helping to facilitate foreign journalists' work in Israel and the Palestinian territories by, among other things, issuing press cards and organizing press conferences. They will have the opportunity to attend meetings at the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

SPOKESPERSON’S DEPARTMENT


Works to portray the President’s policy agenda in the Israeli and foreign media. Interns will maintain daily contact with local and foreign journalists, issue press releases, manage the media during events at the President's Residence and outside, and coordinate interviews to the media.

CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION - MASHAV


The international development arm of the Israeli government. Interns will be meeting with representatives of foreign governments as well as international development organizations with aim of forging new avenues for cooperation. Their role will include drafting proposals and multilateral agreements, and having a creative input into the development of new programs.

DEPARTMENT FOR PUBLIC DIPLOMACY


Working with the deputy director of the department with aim of promoting the policies and agenda of the State of Israel. Interns will work on increasing the ministry's web presence, and helping to coordinate specific public diplomacy project in international arenas.

DEPARTMENT FOR COMBATING ANTISEMITISM


Works to promote and advocate policy on antisemitism within Israel and internationally. Interns will be involved with all aspects of the Department’s work including establishing and maintaining relationships with foreign governments, NGOs and international organizations to encourage legislation, education and other efforts to combat antisemitism and advance Holocaust remembrance.

ECONOMIC DEPARTMENT


Promoting economic cooperation between the State of Israel and other countries, as well as working with international organizations dealing with economy and trade (World Bank, the WTO, OECD etc.).  Work will include coordination of various economic projects, hosting trade delegations in Israel and preparing publications relating to the Israeli economy. 

INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION AND HUMAN RIGHTS


The department deals with the agencies and divisions of the UN on human rights - mainly the Human Rights Council as well as global agenda issues such as sustainable development and humanitarian aid.   

THE INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT


The department works in international arenas to promote the Ministry's international interests. Fellows will prepare economic reports for the Minister of Finance and the senior management of the ministry, and will conduct reasearch on various economy related matters.   

THE ACCOUNTANT GENERAL - GLOBAL DEBT CAPITAL MARKETS AND FOREIGN CURRENCY TRANSACTIONS DEPARTMENT


The intern in this position will be responsible for maintaining relationships with international credit rating agencies, monitoring global markets and conducting research into new markets.  

THE EXPORT PROMOTION BRANCH IN THE FOREIGN TRADE ADMINISTRATION


Responsible for promoting Israeli export around the world, as well as hosting international delegations and coordinating their visits. Interns will also be involved in research on other countries, writing reports and briefings for various government officials as well as for Israeli companies. 

MONEY LAUNDERING AND TERROR FINANCING PROHIBITION AUTHORITY


The authority was established to assist in the investigation and prevention of money laundering and terror financing related crimes.  Interns will conduct research and will be involved with the process of legislation on these matters.   

THE DEPARTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS


The department is responsible for matters relating to international law such as extradition, universal jurisdiction and international police investigations.  The intern will be assiting in the work of the department in all of these arenas, and will conduct reseach on international law and human rights.     

KOL ISRAEL ENGLISH NEWS


Interns will train to become radio announcers for the station’s three daily news reports – conducting interviews, announcing, editing and writing news reports and editing texts for the website. They will gain a unique exposure to Israeli society: politics, culture, education, judicial and social systems and their effect on the daily life of the country’s citizens.

West Bank Civil Administration


 The West Bank Civil Administration deals with all civilian matters, both Palestinian and Israeli in the Judea and Samaria regions. The civil administration operates under COGAT - the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories.
